Blog Post #10 - Blog About It

The conference I had with Mat for my Project 2 was very helpful because I had several questions. Mat first assured me that I was completing the introduction correctly. I originally copied an excerpt from my Project 1, so I would have a narrative at the beginning. He also told me that my transition from the introduction into the interview was good. Mat then told me that I had enough academic research about my topic, and so I asked him what to write about next. He informed me that I should now only focus on the club itself, Seminole Striders. To do this, Mat suggested that I write about the basics: who, what, when, where, and why. He said that I can make each answer into one paragraph. During the conference, he also reminded me that I needed a text. We decided that the Seminole Striders’ social media would be a valuable piece of the club that contributes to a sense of community. Now for my paper, I will have to analyze pictures or posts on Instagram or Facebook and be sure to add a link in order to describe how it creates a sense of community. I found out that this part could be done in first person and should be relatively informal because it is all the information I gathered on my own. This text analysis will be similar to how we described commercials in class. After meeting with Mat, I felt a lot more confident going forward with my paper because I had an organized plan of what to write about next
